MANVILLE: Library adds more hours

The Manville branch of the Somerset County Library System now offers more hours for patrons to visit.
Its schedule will mimic those of eight other county libraries, including Hillsborough’s, in the system. Hillsborough’s operating hours don’t change at all, but Manville’s expand considerably.
In Manville, hours on Monday through Thursday are now 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. That’s an opening that is 30 earlier than previously, and closing an hour later.
Hours on Friday and Saturday will become 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., compared to the 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
There won’t be Sunday hours. Only Hillsborough and Bridgewater are open from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sundays from September to May.
“We are constantly looking for ways to expand our opportunities to serve the public,” said Keith McCoy, director of public services. “We’re pleased to be able to add hours at several of our branches, so that there are consistent opening and closing times across our branches. This follows on our initiative from two years ago to eliminate the shortened summer schedule and remain open on Saturdays all year long. Our next step is to consider opening on Friday nights, or additional Sunday hours.”
