Metuchen church sets conference on autism

MyGOAL Autism and Walden Family Ministries will present “A Brand New Day” Autism Conference, “An Integrated Approach to Caring For Individuals With Autism” from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 3 at Saint Luke’s Episcopal Church, 17 Oak Ave., Metuchen.

This event is for family caregivers, neighbors and friends who have a loved one affected by autism. Registration is required. Speakers from St. Peter’s University Hospital will be presenting with many others. Topics include: Believing for a Brand New Day; Keeping the Family Together; Overview of Autism and Developmental Disabilities; Biomedical Approaches to Autism; Working through Difficult Behaviors; Advocating for Your Child’s Educational Needs; and Dental Care Issues in Autism
