Stomp The Monster plans fun run

Stomp The Monster, a charitable organization that provides financial and other support to cancer patients, their families and caregivers, will host its first Spooktacular Almost 4-Mile Fun Run on Oct. 24 at “Sea Watch” in Manasquan.

This flat course starts off on the boardwalk for a mile of ocean views, makes its way through the streets of Manasquan, and ends just short of 4 miles at the parking lot of Leggett’s Sand Bar.

The race features a free buffet lunch and after-party by Leggett’s, raffles, costume prizes and a 50/50 raffle, all to support Stomp The Monster’s grants and activities that enable cancer patients to focus on treatment to stomp out their cancer, according to a press release.

Registration is now open at the website www.stompthemonster.org.

The Spooktacular 4-Mile Fun Run offers an opportunity for local businesses to sponsor the event. Interested potential sponsors should contact Maria McCann at [email protected].

Stomp The Monster was founded in 2010 by Marlboro resident Seth Grumet after he was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma. During treatment, Grumet was moved by the needs of his fellow patients for financial, emotional and physical support during their cancer battles and chose to do something about it, according to a press release.

Since then, Stomp The Monster has helped more than 1,700 families in the region when they needed it most, according to the press release.
