“Freaky Stuff and Thinky Bits” is the title of a show with mentalists Larry & Raven, who will be at Beth El Saturday, Nov. 14, to do mind reading, ESP and telepathy. The evening begins at 7:30 p.m. with a dairy Italian dinner, with the show starting at 8:30 p.m. Call the synagogue for reservations.
“The Battle for Israel’s Image – What Comes Next,” is the subject of David Hazony’s lecture on Thursday, Nov. 5, at 7 p.m. Hazony is editor of The Tower and managing director of The Israel Project and was a finalist for the National Jewish Book Award.
Start Your Engines. The Men’s Club Mystery Road Rally is Saturday, Nov. 7, at 7:30 p.m. Contact the Men’s Club if you want to go crazy, and have a lot of fun at the same time, trying to find the hidden objects.
The Global Day of Jewish Learning is on Sunday, Nov.15, from 9:45 a.m. to noon. Lectures will be presented by the rabbi, cantor and by Shira Leeds.
The Werner Lecture Fund presents a one-act play, “The Conductor: Only in Terezin/Raphael’s Requiem,” on Thursday, Nov. 12, at 7 p.m.
Why Recycle – Why Bother! You’ll find out Thursday, Nov. 19, at 1 p.m. The Beth El Seniors is presenting a lecture where you can probably find out more than you ever knew about waste and recycling, why some products can be dangerous, while others can become useful. There will be trash to throw out afterwards since light refreshments will be served.
Want to find out about your family history? Go to the next meeting of the Genealogy Club for a presentation on how to start your search. Lew Meixler, chairman of the club, will explain how you can use the Internet to access U.S. and European records from both the 19th and 20th centuries. The meeting is Sunday, Nov. 15, at 7:30 p.m.
Mazel Tov to Stu Ringelheim who is Beth El’s Man of the Year and to Yaffa Kornsgold, who is Youth of the Year. They will be honored at the Northern New Jersey Region of the Men’s Club dinner Nov. 11, at Congregation B’nai Tikvah.
