HILLSBOROUGH: Memorial remembers longtime DPW employee William Niedlinger

Family, friends and colleagues of William F. Neidlinger gathered Friday to dedicate a memorial to the lifelong resident of Flagtown and 30-year employee with the township Public Works Department.
The memorial, located in Flagtown Park on 7th Street in Flagtown, will stand “as a remembrance of a man who truly made a difference for the people of Hillsborough,” says a proclamation of the Township Committee.
Mr. Neidlinger, 56, died in August 2013.
Mr. Neidlinger was known for “his great sense of humor, his light-heartedness and his unwavering love for his “Flagtown,” which was brought up daily to friends and co-workers,” according to the proclamation.
Mr. Neidlinger worked his way to the rank of assistant supervisor and “carried out the mission and responsibilities of the Hillsborough Township Public Works Department in a most professional and responsible manner,” according to the resolution.
Mr. Neidlinger, through his service as an employee of the DPW, made “significant contributions toward the growth and development” of the township and “demonstrated the most admirable qualities of leadership and unselfish commitment.”
