WEST WINDSOR POLICE BLOTTER: Nov. 5

Joshua S. Mozee, of Perth Amboy, was charged with hindering apprehension for giving police a false name after the car in which he was riding was stopped by police for speeding on Route 1 north at 3:50 a.m. Oct. 18. He was found to be a fugitive from justice from the Middlesex County Sheriff’s Office and sent to the Mercer County Corrrection Center. The driver of the car, Fernando Encarnacion, was arrested on an outstanding warrant for $1,500 from Edison Townshp Municipal Court. 

Someone stole a forklift, valued at $20,000, from the Buffalo Wild Wings construction site on Route 1 sometime between Oct. 17 and Oct. 18. The construction site was fenced and secured. 

A WalMart loss prevention officer recovered an assortment of clothing that two female shoplifters had allegedly attempted to take from the store at 2:25 p.m. Oct. 18. The two women filled a black tote and a WalMart shopping bag with clothing and walked out of the store. When the loss prevention officer confronted them in the parking lot, they abandoned the stolen items and fled. 

A Jobstown resident reported the theft of his Dell laptop computer, valued at $1,500, from a classroom at Mercer County Community College Oct. 19. The theft was reported at 2:41 p.m. Oct. 19. 

A West Windsor Township resident reported that someone opened a PayPal credit account in his name without his permission. The victim received a bill in the mail from PayPal Credit and when he contacted PayPal, he was told that an account was opened in his name. The incident was reported Oct. 20 at 6:25 p.m. 

Francis M. Burnett, 70, of Trenton, was charged with shoplifting for allegedly taking $95.43 worth of Fusion razor products from Wegman’s at the Nassau Park Pavilion at 11:14 a.m. Oct. 21. He concealed the razors in his jacket. 

A West Windsor High School South student reported the theft of $40 in cash from his wallet, which he had left on a desk in the weight room at the high school. The theft occurred at 11:37 a.m. Oct. 24. 

A township resident reported the theft of his wallet, which was inside his 2014 Jeep Wrangler, after a burglar entered the vehicle while it was parked in the Waterford Estates development between Oct. 25 and Oct. 26. The thief also took the front license plate, which was on the dashboard, and damaged the glove compartment door. 
