POLICE BLOTTER for 11/12/15

The East Windsor Township Police Department initiated the following police reports through Wednesday, November 4, 2015. 
Brendan Shaw, 31, of Wilmor Drive was arrested and charged with DUI, reckless driving, careless driving and having an unclear license plate at the Route 130 McDonald’s at 1:53 a.m. on Oct. 31.
An officer observed a vehicle driving erratically through the parking lot and conducted a motor vehicle stop. While speaking with the driver, the officer detected the odor of alcoholic beverage coming from the vehicle. He also noticed that the driver had watery eyes and droopy eyelids.
Mr. Shaw was given field sobriety tests and arrested for DUI. He was later released pending court action. 
Khalipa OldJohn, 36, of Pebble Road, was arrested and charged with DUI, refusal to provide breath samples, reckless driving, careless driving and failure to signal turn and having an unclear license plate at 2:15 a.m. Oct. 31 at the Colonade Motel on Route 130.
An officer observed a vehicle make an improper turn into the parking lot and a motor vehicle stop was conducted. While speaking with the driver, the officer detected the odor of alcoholic beverage.
Mr. OldJohn was given field sobriety tests and arrested for DUI. He was later released pending court action. 
Lindsey Schweder, 30 of Hamilton, N.J., was arrested and charged with DUI, reckless driving, careless driving, failure to maintain lane, having an unclear license plate, driving an uninsured vehicle and failure to exhibit vehicle registration on Route 130 at 2:59 a.m. Oct. 31.
An officer observed a vehicle driving erratically and conducted a motor vehicle stop. While speaking with the driver, the officer detected the odor of alcoholic beverage coming from within the vehicle.
Ms. Schweder was given field sobriety tests and arrested for DUI. She was later released pending court action. 
Brayhan Alvarez-Castaneda, 21, of Freehold, N.J. was arrested and charged with obstructing the administration of law, hindering apprehension, DUI, refusal to submit breath samples, reckless driving, careless driving, driving an uninsured vehicle, failure to exhibit driver’s license and failure to exhibit vehicle registration at the Chase Bank on Route 130 at 1:27 a.m. Nov. 1.
An officer observed an occupied vehicle in the parking lot. While speaking with the driver, the officer detected the odor of alcoholic beverage coming from within the vehicle. He also noticed that the driver had bloodshot, watery eyes. The driver refused to provide his pedigree information or perform field sobriety tests.
Mr. Alvarez-Castaneda was arrested for obstructing the administration of law, hindering apprehension and DUI and later released pending court action. 
Connor Aplaugh, 21, of Jamestown Road, was arrested and charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia on Twin Rivers Drive at 12:47 p.m. on Nov. 1.
An officer observed a vehicle without a front license plate and conducted a motor vehicle stop. While speaking with the driver, the officer smelled the odor of marijuana coming from within the vehicle. Further investigation led to the issuance of a search warrant for the vehicle. Marijuana and drug paraphernalia were located during the subsequent search. The driver and two 17-year-old juvenile passengers were arrested and later released pending court action. 
Keenan K. Ward, 23, of Ewing, N.J., was arrested and charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle and contempt of court on Route 130 North at 8:12 a.m. Nov. 2.
An officer conducted a motor vehicle stop after he was alerted that the registered owner and driver of the vehicle had an active warrant for his arrest. While speaking with the driver, the officer observed marijuana on his clothing. Further investigation revealed that the driver was in possession of additional marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Mr. Ward was arrested, charged and transferred to the custody of the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office on an active warrant out of that jurisdiction.
