 The Jackson Memorial High School cheer squad will host its third annual gift auction at 5 p.m. Nov. 21 at the AMVETS post, 1290 Toms River Road, Jackson. Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door. This fundraiser will benefit the cheer team as its members prepare to defend their Americheer InterNational championship title in February. A portion of the gift auction proceeds will be donated to Jackson’s Garden of Hope, a public sanctuary where parents and family members can reflect on the memory of children who have passed away.  Mission Dance will perform at the American Hotel, Freehold, at a “Day After Thanksgiving Party.” Doors will open at 8:30 p.m. Nov. 27 and Mission Dance will play from 9 p.m. to midnight. Mission Dance performs current and classic pop music hits. Tickets are $10 at the door. The band will be collecting canned and dry goods for the Freehold Open Door food pantry.  Howell’s Little Elves program is in need of children to become elves this holiday season. Elves must be 13 years of age and older and should be accompanied by an adult. In addition, the distribution of fliers asking neighbors to donate a new, unwrapped toy for the less fortunate in Howell is needed.
