Weekend silent auction raises funds for library

MILLTOWN — A silent auction will be held this weekend to benefit the Milltown Public Library.

With many bids starting at $2, Cheryl Van Gorden, president of the Friends of the Milltown Public Library, said people can start their holiday shopping early prior to Black Friday, traditionally the start of the holiday shopping season.

The silent auction will include many new and like-new items from “As seen on TV” items to housewares and jewelry.

Van Gorden said the bids are a great way for even children to get presents for their families.

The silent auction will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Nov. 20 and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Nov. 21 at the library, located at 20 West Church St., Milltown.

All proceeds from the silent auction will go directly to the Friends of the Library, which pays for items not in the library budget, including children’s programs.
