The Social Justice Group at Saint Aloysius School in Jackson is all about giving back to our community. This year they decided to raffle movie-themed baskets full of popcorn, candy, DVDs and movie gift cards. It cost $1 per raffle ticket.
Students in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade purchased raffle tickets from Nov. 4-18. The money raised will be used for the Social Justice Group to adopt a family for Christmas through the Saint Vincent DePaul Society. Their goal was to raise $500, but they raised $1,256! Now, not only do they have enough for our adopted family, but they can also help buy some animals for families in third world countries.
