Spotswood students prove that they care

SPOTSWOOD — Student members of the Memorial Middle School Community Cares Club went to the local food pantry on Nov. 23 to deliver food and hygiene products that had been collected over the last few weeks.

In total, 307 items were donated, equaling 287 pounds of food.

The food pantry and thrift shop, located on Main Street in Spotswood, serves nearly 400 families over the course of a month, which they estimate to be 1,500 people.

The Community Cares Club hopes to continue its food drive efforts throughout the year after hearing about how the process works, walking through and seeing the shelves, and witnessing the impact they made with their donations in just a few short weeks.
