Taxpayers can’t afford new schools

Eighty seven million dollars – only $87 million? Are you working two or three jobs now to keep up? Do you cut back on your food costs to pay for your rising medical costs?

As a homeowner you no sooner repair something and something else breaks. Dollars keep going out.

What else can you cut back on to pay the skyrocketing taxes that the North Brunswick School Board is demanding?

Sell your car to pay the rising taxes.

Most people feel they are paying too much. The majority of your property taxes go towards the school system. New Jersey’s flat economy and crushing escalating taxes continue to drive folks out, to head to North Carolina, South Carolina and Delaware. They’re not retiring. They’re not in the retirement age bracket. They are fed up.

The North Brunswick School Board rolled out a presentation for an $87 million project. Our school board wants new offices. Why shouldn’t they get them? They have you to pay for them.

At $87 million, I wonder, are the floors made out of gold?

This $87 million project to build two new schools with a community center, municipal offices, a nursery care facility and so on is the Taj Mahal. Will you open a casino to pay for this? Can you please win the lottery to help offset these costs?

I will vote no to this referendum at the Dec. 8 election. I urge my fellow North Brunswick residents to do the same.
