Terrorist attack kills US teen in Israel

EAST BRUNSWICK – A U.S. teen, who has relatives in East Brunswick and Edison, was among three killed in a shooting in West Bank.

Ezra Schwartz, 18, was killed in a drive by shooting Nov 19. The killing has been ruled a terror attack, according to media reports.

Schwartz was a native of Boston, Massachusetts.

The funeral service was held on Nov 22 at Temple Sinai in Sharon, Mass. According to reports, the funeral was broadcasted and viewed by 7,000 people.

Schwartz along with five others were cleaning a nature reserve in Jerusalem when the gunmen opened fire.

Along with Schwartz, two others were killed in the attack, Yaakov Don, 51, and Shadi Arfah, 24, according to media reports.

Schwartz graduated from Orthodox Maimonides School in Boston and was in the Israeli city of Beit Shemesh studying at Yeshivat Ashreinu. He was planning to attend Rutgers University in the fall.

The New England Patriots honored Schwartz with a moment of silence in their Nov. 23 Monday Night Game against the Buffalo Bills. He was a devoted Patriots fan.
