POLICE BLOTTER for the week of 1/1/16

The Hightstown Police Department initiated the following police reports from Dec. 8 through Dec. 22, 2015
 A resident of the Hightstown Housing Authority reported that between Dec. 5 and Dec. 6 her new vehicle was damaged. The caller reported that a large linear scratch in a “Y” type pattern was found on the front hood of the vehicle. Anyone with information or similar incidents is asked to contact Hightstown Police Department. 
Angel G. Quintana, 51, from Cranbury, turned himself in at headquarters Dec. 8 and was arrested for an outstanding warrant out of Hightstown Municipal Court. Mr. Quintana was processed and later released after posting $250.00 bail. 
Tasleem A. Khan, 21, from Lumberton, was arrested Dec. 9 by Lumberton Police for an outstanding warrant out of Hightstown Municipal Court. After Mr. Khan posted $300.00 bail, he was released with a court date. 
Shanique M. Brittingham, 23, from Trenton, was arrested Dec. 10 by state police for an outstanding warrant out of Hightstown Municipal Court. Officers took custody of Ms. Brittingham and transported her to Mercer County Adult Correctional Facility to be lodge in lieu of bail. 
A resident on the 100 block of Harron Avenue reported that his Star Shower Christmas Light decoration had been damaged Dec. 10. The caller believed that it may be children from the area that are repsonsible. Anyone with information or similar incidents is asked to contact Hightstown Police Department. 
Luis A. Granda-Tepan, 34, from Maryland, was arrested Dec. 11 for possession of prescription medication after officers were investigating a suspicious vehicle in the rear parking lot of Hightstown Bagel. Mr. Granda-Tepan was transported to headquarters, processed and later released after being served his complaints. 
Lesther J. Sosa-Barahona, 18, of Monmouth Street, was arrested Dec. 13 for attempted burglary. Mr. Sosa-Barahona was transported to headquarters, processed and later released pending court. Mr. Sosa-Barahona was later charged with theft for a related incident. 
Antonio J. Buck Jr., 34, of Rev. William L. Powell Drive, was arrested Dec. 15 during a motor vehicle stop for an outstanding warrant out of Hightstown Municipal Court. Mr. Buck was transported to headquarters, processed, and later released after posting $500.00 full bail and receiving traffic tickets. 
Michum Danzy, 58, from Willingboro, was arrested Dec. 15 during a motor vehicle stop for an outstanding warrant out of Eatontown Municipal Court. Mr. Danzy was transported to headquarters, processed and later released after posting $210.00 bail. 
Michael D. Difilippo, 26, from Delran, was arrested Dec. 18 during a motor vehicle stop for DWI. Mr. Difilippo was transported to headquarters, processed and later released to a friend per John’s Law. 
Officers recovered a stolen vehicle Dec. 18 out of Hamilton, NJ in the area of the Deerfield/Westerlea Arms apartment complex. Officers impounded the vehicle, which was later released to the owner. 
Jeffrey D. Covington, 24, from Browns Mills, was arrested Dec. 19 during a motor vehicle stop for DWI. Mr. Covington was transported to headquarters, processed and later released to a friend per John’s Law. 
Darrius W. Wojtowicz, 21, and Lauren J. Shingola, 21, both of Lincoln Avenue, were arrested Dec. 19 for defiant trespassing of the Cedar Hill Cemetery after hours. Mr. Wojtowicz and Ms. Shingola were transported to headquarters, processed and later released with a court date. 
Sophia M. Pegram, 24, of Burlington, was arrested Dec. 19 by Eatontown Police for an outstanding warrant out of Hightstown Municipal Court. Ms. Pegram was released after posting 10 percent of her full $1000.00 bail and given a court date. 
Luis Sumba, 28, of Deerfield Apartments, was arrested Dec. 20 for DWI during a motor vehicle accident investigation. Mr. Sumba was transported to headquarters, processed and later released to his parents per John’s Law. 
Joshua A. Orpel, 35, of Rogers Avenue, was arrested Dec. 22 by Manchester Police for an outstanding warrant out of Hightstown Municipal Court. Officers took custody of Mr. Orpel and transported him to Mercer County Correctional Facility to be lodged in lieu of bail. 
Everette L. Rogers, 38, from New Castle, Deleware, was arrested Dec. 22 by Hopewell Police for an outstanding warrant out of Hightstown Municipal Court. Mr. Rogers was transported to Mercer County Adult Correctional Facility to be lodged in lieu of bail. 
The East Windsor Township Police Department initiated the following police reports through Wednesday, December 23, 2015. 
Luis Valentin, 49, of Manalapan, N.J., was charged with DUI, refusal to submit to breath testing, reckless driving, careless driving and failure to maintain lane at 12:01 a.m. on Dec. 19 while traveling on Route 33 East.
An officer was on patrol on Route 33, observed a vehicle driving erratically and conducted a motor vehicle stop. While speaking with the driver, the officer detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from within the vehicle. The driver was given field sobriety tests and arrested for DUI. Mr. Valentin was later released pending court action. 
Houston T. Beers, 27, of Hamilton, N.J., was charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to wear a seatbelt at 11:29 a.m. Dec. 20 while traveling on Route 130.
An officer was on patrol in the area of Route 130 and Hankins Road and observed a blue Lincoln with an obstructed view and an expired registration. While speaking with the occupants, the passenger was identified as having multiple warrants for his arrest. Further investigation revealed that he was also in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Mr. Beers was arrested and transferred to the Mercer County Correctional Center. 
Michael Scholander, 45, of East Windsor, was charged with DUI, reckless driving and careless driving at 6:06 p.m. Dec. 22 while traveling on Route 130.
An officer responded to the area of Route 130 and Hickory Corner Road for a two vehicle motor vehicle crash. No injuries were reported. The officer determined the driver at fault for the crash was impaired and he was given field sobriety tests. Mr. Scholander was arrested for DUI and later released pending court action.
