“Moonsnail” by Lisa Bagwell, materials collected along Sandy Hook beach after a heavy rainstorm “Moonsnail” by Lisa Bagwell, materials collected along Sandy Hook beach after a heavy rainstorm The first exhibit of 2013 at the Art Alliance of Monmouth County Gallery in Red Bank showcases sculptures in a range of media, including traditional mediums such as polymer and clay as well as alternative materials such as found objects.

Artists featured in the windows of the gallery are Lisa Bagwell, Ocean Grove; Lauren Bellero, Red Bank; Theresa Caracappa, Rumson; and Ed Riley, Point Pleasant.

Bagwell builds sculptures from collected items destined for the trash. Caracappa began as a knitwear artist and over the years added to her reserve of materials, ultimately discovering the versatility and range of polymer clay. Bellero is a clay artist whose focus is pit firing, an ancient technique of firing unglazed pots in an earthen kiln.

Hours at the gallery, located at 33 Monmouth St. in Red Bank, are Tuesday through Saturday, noon to 4 p.m. The Art Alliance is an all-volunteer co-op gallery dedicated to providing exhibition and studio space for area artists. Membership is open to all, artist and nonartists, amateur and professional. All media are represented. For more information, contact the gallery at 732-842-9403 or visit www.artallianceofmonmouth.org.
