Marilyn “Lynne” A. Martin Strelzick
Mrs. Strelzick, 77, of Hazlet, died March 23 at Deborah Heart and Lung Hospital, Browns Mills. Born in Woodside, N.Y., she resided there prior to moving to Hazlet in 1957. She was a retired waitress at Magnolia Inn, Matawan, where she was employed 20 years. Prior to that, she was employed at the New York Daily News for eight years. She was a communicant of Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Union Beach. She was a member of the Golden Agers, Hazlet. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward F. Strelzick Jr., in 1982; a son, Edward F. Strelzick III, in 2001; and a daughter, Lynne A. Saine, in 2001. She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Marian and Leo Redmond of Rockaway, Tina and Kevin Hyland of Florida, and Irene and Alan Fisler of Atlantic Highlands; two sons, Harry Strelzick of Hazlet, and Mark Strelzick; two sisters, Carol McFadden and Dorothy Martin, both of Hazlet; a brother, James Martin of California; 12 grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Holy Family Church. Interment was at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown. Arrangements were by Day Funeral Home, Keyport. Theresa J. Romaine Arenz
Mrs. Arenz, 71, of Hazlet, died March 24 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Jersey City, she resided in Union Beach and Keyport prior to moving to Hazlet 13 years ago. She was a retired accounting department and medical secretary at IFF, Union Beach and Hazlet, where she was employed 30 years. She was a communicant of St. Catherine’s Roman Catholic Church, North Middletown. She was a member of the first aid squad at IFF. She was predeceased by her husband, Henry Arenz in 1986. She is survived by a son, John Arenz of Somerset, Pa.; two daughters and one son-in-law, Kerri Arenz of Keansburg, and Debra and David Penszynski of Hazlet; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Pat and Joseph Murphy of Toms River, and Diane Romaine of Jersey City; a brother and sister-in-law, James and Carol Romaine of Keansburg; and three grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be March 30 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Catherine’s Church. Arrangements are by Day Funeral Home, Keyport.
Francisco Hernandez
Mr. Hernandez, 77, of Hazlet, died March 22 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in San Jose, Costa Rica, he resided in Atlantic Highlands prior to moving to Hazlet seven months ago. He was a retired facilities manager at Verizon, Brooklyn, N.Y. Prior to that, during the 1940s, he was a bodyguard for Costa Rican President Jose Figueres. He was predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Odilie. He is survived by a son, Alvaro Hernandez of Secaucus; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Maritza LaCatta of Hazlet, Leticia and Richard Martin of Sparta, and Ligia and Lloyd Good of Freehold; a sister, Daisy of Costa Rica; and six grandchildren. Anna Conk
Mrs. Conk, 87, of Middletown, died March 18 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Rumson, she resided in Fair Haven for many years before moving to Middletown. Mrs. Conk was a homemaker. She was predeceased by her husband, Walter Conk, in 1967. She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Debbie Conk of Middletown, Joseph and Virginia Conk of Florida, and Walter and Betty Conk of Hutchinson Island, Fla.; a sister, Millie Ziegler; a sister-in-law, Edie Conk of Oceanport; two grandchildren; and one great-grandson. The John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown, was in charge of arrangements.
Geraldine Keating
Mrs. Keating, 60, of Whiting, died March 17 at Whiting Healthcare. Born in New York City, she had resided in the Cliffwood Beach section of Aberdeen before moving to Whiting four years ago. Mrs. Keating was a manager at McDonald’s in Keyport for 20 years and at McDonald’s in Lakehurst. She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church, Whiting, and a former communicant of St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church, Laurence Harbor, where she was a member of the Altar Rosary Society. Mrs. Keating is survived by her husband, John Keating; two sons, Robert F. Keating of Keyport and Matthew J. Keating of Aberdeen; a brother, John, of New York; and three grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Lawrence Church. Entombment was at Forest Green Memorial Park Cemetery, Marlboro. The Day Funeral Home, Keyport, was in charge of arrangements.
Jean Senatore
Mrs. Senatore, 91, of Middletown Township, died March 26 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Passaic, she resided in Clifton prior to moving to Middletown 15 years ago. She was a retired data processing supervisor at Okonite Corporation, Ramsey, for 40 years, retiring in 1979. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Dolores and Robert Hofmann of Middletown; two grandsons; and two great-granddaughters. Visitation will be March 30 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. A funeral liturgy will be March 31 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth section of Middletown. Entombment will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.
Philomena “Fannie” Jiosne
Mrs. Jiosne, 93, died March 17 at Victoria House, Matawan. She was born in the Cliffwood section of Aberdeen. She was a seamstress. She was a communicant of St. Clement’s Roman Catholic Church, Matawan. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph A. Jiosne in 1988; and her son, Joseph in 2000. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Nina and Joseph Scacco of Matawan, and Dora and Martin Hauser of Wilmington, Del.; a daughter-in-law, Patricia Jiosne of Matawan; a brother, Albert Rosato of Matawan; eight granddaughters; and 12 great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Clement’s Church. Entombment was at St. Joseph’s Mausoleum, Keyport. Arrangements were by Day Funeral Home, Keyport.
