Mayor Liz Lempert on Monday would not tip her hand on the “exciting announcement” that an undisclosed staff member planned to make tonight at the council meeting.
At her regular twice-monthly press conference, the mayor was not budging when pressed repeatedly on what the news was or even which staff member would make the announcement.
“Stay tuned,” she said. “It’s a good news announcement.”
Asked why she was being vague, she replied: “Because I think it’s going to be a surprise for a lot of people, and I want them to hear it from the person who should be the one making the news.”
