Part of the Bank of America complex off of Scotch Road was evacuated late morning Friday to investigate a suspicious substance in a mailed envelope.
As an employee was processing mail shortly before 11 a.m., the substance was seen falling from an envelope.
The Hopewell Township Police Department, along with the Pennington Fire
Company and the Hopewell Valley Emergency Services, responded. A portion of the building involved was evacuated while emergency personnel awaited the arrival of the Trenton Fire Department Hazardous Materials Team.
The suspicious substance was analyzed and determined to be ground paper particles. All employees were allowed to reoccupy the building after about one hour.
