MILLSTONE — Mayor Nancy Grbelja, who was reappointed to a seat on the Millstone Planning Board when the Township Committee held its annual reorganization meeting on Jan. 2, said one of the board’s goals this year will be to update the municipality’s master plan.
The master plan is a series of documents and regulations that guide the growth and development of the township.
Robert Baily was appointed to the board as the mayor’s designee should Grbelja not be able to attend a meeting, and Township Committeeman Fiore Masci was reappointed to a one-year term on the board.
The other members of the Planning Board are Mitchell Newman, Chris Pepe, Manny Blanco, Mary Pinney, David Kurzman, Thomas Pado and Robert Beck. The alternate members are Jeffrey Ziner and Ed Kocur.
Many of the board’s scheduled meetings in 2012 were canceled due to a lack of applications to be considered.
The board hears development applications that are generally in conformance with the regulations of the zone in which a project is being proposed.
The Zoning Board of Adjustment will hold its reorganization meeting on Jan. 23 at 7:30 p.m. in the municipal meeting room, Millstone Road.
The zoning board hears applications that include one or more items that are not in conformance with the zone in which a project is being proposed. The applicant seeks a variance or variances from the board which, if granted, permit the non-conforming issue (i.e., insufficient frontage, undersized lot) to exist.
