Blood drive at temple scheduled for July 14

The Blood Center of New Jersey will hold a blood drive July 14 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Congregation B’nai Tikvah, 1001 Finnegans Lane, North Brunswick.

The need for blood escalates around the Fourth of July holiday, according to the center.

Donors must be age 18 or older (17-year-olds may donate with parental permission), should know the donor’s Social Security number, and should bring a signed or picture form of identification.

North Brunswick center to offer various trips

The North Brunswick Senior Center, 15 Linwood Place, will offer a trip to Monmouth Park Racetrack, Oceanport, July 19.

Cost is $42 which covers bus transportation, admission, program, souvenir pen and buffet luncheon in the Rivalry Room (men must wear jackets).

A trip to Point Pleasant will be Aug. 13, and cost is $3 per person. A trip to the battleship, New Jersey, will be Sept. 3, and cost is $27 which covers bus transportation, admission, and box lunch.

Jersey Fresh Fest and Honey Harvest July 20

The New Jersey Museum of Agriculture, 103 College Farm Road, North Brunswick, will host Jersey Fresh Fest and Honey Harvest July 20 from noon to 4 p.m.

The event will include a watermelon-eating contest, a small farmers’ market, and children’s crafts. Attendees may also view the museum’s newly reopened beehive.
