Magyar Savings Bank recently broke ground for the construction of its new and larger main office facilities on French Street, New Brunswick. The new office is "just down the street" from Magyar’s present headquarters at 101 French St., which has served at the bank’s flagship location for decades.

Designed by the architectural firm of Marcantonio & Kuhn, the new structure will consist of four stories, encompassing approximately 32,000 square feet of office space. The banking office will also feature drive-in and walk-up facilities as well as 24-hour ATM/night deposit services. Other amenities will include a lobby coin counter, safe deposit box services, a 40-seat community meeting room and expanded customer parking. Construction began in June, with completion scheduled for fall 2005.

"Magyar’s new main office, which is a stone’s throw from our current headquarters, demonstrates our strong desire to stay in the New Brunswick area to serve the financial needs of present and prospective customers," Robert E. Pastor, the firm’s president and chief executive officer, said. "Many banks have come and gone since our founding here in 1922, but we’re here to stay with a new, larger and better home that reflects Magyar’s genuine commitment to the community."

Magyar also maintains offices in North Brunswick and South Brunswick.
