TheMainEventS.com — the online tool to assist nonprofits and charitable organizations in planning and promoting fund-raisers — will make its debut at a launch party April 7 from 6-8:30 p.m. at Branches, 123 Monmouth Road, Long Branch. The establishment is a sponsor of the Web site. The site is a master calendar for event planning and provides event planning committees with up-to-date event calendars to plan, reserve and book events. It will also work with the New Jersey Office of Travel & Tourism and area chambers of commerce to list and link major community events. It will provide event-related information in Monmouth, Ocean, Middlesex and Mercer counties beginning April 7, with calendars for remaining New Jersey counties posted later in the spring.

The New Jersey Chamber of Commerce and U.S. Small Business Administration will host the eighth annual New Jersey Small Business Conference April 22 from 8 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency New Brunswick, 2 Albany St. The event will feature more than 40 exhibitors, workshops, speeches and awards presented by the SBA during the luncheon. Dearborn Farms, 2170 Route 35 south, Holmdel, will hold a groundbreaking ceremony for its renovations April 4 at 4 p.m. Attending the ceremony will be Holmdel Mayor Larry Fink and other Holmdel dignitaries. Staci Solodovnick of Elite Chiropractic and Wellness Center, 1 Bethany Road, Hazlet, announced that the center recently introduced Insight Millennium Subluxation Station diagnostic equipment to its practice. The equipment analyzes the function of the spine and nervous system, which cannot be seen on X-ray. During the month of April, when patients schedule a scan using the equipment, the practice will make a $20 donation to the athletics program at Raritan High School, Hazlet. Monmouth Legal Secretaries will host the 2005 annual meeting of New Jersey Association of Legal Secretaries April 22-24 at the Sheraton Eatontown Hotel and Conference Center, Route 35. Meridian Health announced that its three hospitals — Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune; Ocean Medical Center, Brick; and Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank — recently dedicated additional magnet units at each facility. The units are specially dedicated patient care units that follow a specific nursing model, and must meet or exceed several benchmarks. Jersey Shore’s Booker 2 and Brennan 6 patient care units were dedicated as the medical center’s fifth and sixth magnet units. Ocean Medical Center’s 5 West became its third magnet unit, and Riverview dedicated its 3 East oncology unit, making it the third magnet unit at Riverview.
