A 5K walkathon will be held as a community fundraising event for James Monroe Elementary School, Edison, on Sept. 13 at Thomas Edison Park, Mill Road, Edison.
Registration will begin at 8 a.m. Mayor Thomas Lankey will address those present at 9 a.m.
The fee is $15 for adult participants; and $10 for kids, students and seniors. Sponsorship opportunities are available.
Proceeds will be used to help rebuild the school.
