Sophomore Lorraine Mackiewicz led all volleyball players with nine kills and hit .818 as Babson College defeated visiting Emerson College, 3-0 (25-12, 25-8, 26-24), for its schoolrecord 15th consecutive victory in New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) women’s volleyball action at Staake Gymnasium in Babson Park, Mass.

Babson (20-8, 8-0 NEWMAC) reached the 20-win plateau for just the third time in program history while setting a new school record for conference wins in a season. Emerson, which has lost five straight matches, dropped to 13-12 overall and 4-3 in league play.

Mackiewicz, a graduate of J.P. Stevens High School in Edison, plays opposite and outside hitter for Babson. She has 165 kills and 43 blocks for the season. She is J.P. Stevens’ all-time leading scorer.
