The free health screenings and flu shots for New Jersey horsemen at Gaitway Farms have been rescheduled to Oct. 21, according to Dr. Chris Samaha of the Backstretch Community Assistance Program.

It was decided to cancel and reschedule the Oct. 5 date because of the threat of severe weather.

The Gaitway screenings will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

The Fourth Annual Step Up For Sarcoma 5K was held Sept. 27 at the Manalapan Recreation Center.

Hundreds of runners and racewalkes completed the 3.1-mile race that benefits sarcoma research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Over the four-year history of the race, the event has raised $62,000 for sarcoma research.

The overall male and female winners were:

Men — 1. Nick Ackerma,17:22.1; 2. Ryan DeGregori, 17:57.4; and 3. Tyler Foss, 19:49.1.

Women — 1. Amy Petfield, 23:39.0; 2. Lauren Gorman, 25:01.1; and 3. Jennifer Da- Costa, 25:45.3.
