Storm U14 girls
The East Windsor PAL Storm U14 girls soccer team, with a depleted defense, still managed to defeat Point Pleasant 3-0 recently.
Keeper Mary Kate Harnett recorded the full game shutout. Defenders Mia Sandoval, Lili Iavarone and Danielle Faup were outstanding keeping Pride’s chances to a minimum.
The Storm had the better of play early but couldn’t break through until Nikki Masone fed Grace O’Leary near the penalty area to start the scoring. Early in the second half O’Leary split two defenders and was stymied by the sprawling keeper, but Ragan McKenna picked up the rebound gently placing it for the 2-0 lead.
Faup, late in the third, came in at striker and moments later directed a cross from Laila Aly into the far corner to round out the scoring.
